Falling, 2020
Experimental Short
Role: Editor, Writer, Director, and DP
I created this video as an abstract expression of a hard personal experience that I had in the past. Although I have moved past the situation, I used the video as almost a therapeutic expression of my feelings of sadness and anger and saw myself as the girl I was filming. This video really served as a growing experience for me.
Collateral Beauty, 2019
Experimental Short
Role: Director, Editor, DP, Costume Designer
I created this video to demonstrate the persona that women are expected to have. The actresses perform as ballerinas who are proper, put together, and graceful while performing uptight, organized dance moves and moving in a synchronized fashion. At the end of the video, I have all the girls take their hair down from their buns; this is a symbolic gesture of letting themselves be free and not caring about what others think about them. After taking down their hair, all of the girls start smiling and laughing which shows that if they live more freely with no worries, they will experience greater happiness.

No Signal, 2021
Documentary
Role: Writer, Director, Editor, DP
For this project, I received the opportunity to make a documentary for an up and coming artist, Riley Schmelzer, and his band, No Signal. It was my goal for this project to make sure he was comfortable in front of the camera, as this is the first time he has agreed to really show his face and the behind the scenes of his work. I wanted to make sure that the audience would get a great feel for his unique personality and his passion for music.. .
The Heart Wants What it Wants, 2019
Experimental Short
Role: Director, Editor, DP
This video was made as a part of a serious I called "Unconventional Souls." This was the first part of a two part series (the second one is below). I thought that this was a powerful video about a difficult relationship that this girl was experiencing. It shows the betrayal of the guy that she was with, and how she opened herself up to him and he treated her in a way that she didn't deserve. And as an outcome it caused her to be in constant pain and most likely effected the life of the boy very little.
Defiant, 2019
Experimental Short/Documentary
Role: Director, Editor, DP
This video was made as a part of a series I called "Unconventional Souls." This was the second part of a two part series (the first one is above). What I had in mind during this project is the difference between male and female perspectives. Both of these scenarios took place after a boy in this video broke up with the girl in the above video. The girl is heartbroken, depressed, angry, sad, confused, and the boy is trying to distract himself from his feelings.
It Won't Be Us, 2021
Monologue
Role: Director, Writer, Editor, DP
This film was made to show the feeling of being stuck. I wrote this monologue and felt a very personal connection to it and was very passionate about it being a very simple take on the topic. The actor is talking about how he never got anywhere, he tried so hard for so long and it was for nothing. He goes to a day to day job that he hates, and is becoming a person that he doesn't want to be. I think this is a very powerful monologue if you really pay attention to what the actor is saying and let it sit with you for a bit after watching it.
Fruit Punch, 2021
Narrative Short
Role: Director, Editor, Producer
Thematic Statement:
"Motivations powered by jealousy and greed will always lead to cruel behavior."
Logline:
Maddie, a conniving sorority girl, manipulates her innocent sorority sister Emily into constructing a deranged plan to quickly eliminate the other girls in the sorority.
Social Media, 2020
Documentary Short
Role: Director, Editor, Producer, Writer
This film was made to show the affects of social media on people ages 18-24. I made this film during COVID when nobody was in school and everything was virtual. I was desperate to make a film but was not allowed to be on a set, so I made this. And especially during COVID times, people were partaking in social media and the digital world a lot more, and for the majority of these people, the increase in technology use has had a negative affect on their mental health.
Beautiful Little Fool, 2019
Experimental Short
Role: Director, Editor, Producer, DP
I made this short film after I was greatly inspired by not only this line in the book "The Great Gatsby," but also how this particular scene was portrayed in Baz Luhrman's rendition of "The Great Gatsby
I was inspired by this scene from The Great Gatsby, directed by Baz Luhrman because I just think that this is one of the most beautiful scenes ever, not only because of the visuals but also because of the dialogue. If anyone has seen this movie, this is when Daisy and Nick walk off after dinner after Daisy’s husband had been talking phone calls throughout from the lady he is having an affair with. Daisy and Nick walk off and Daisy basically explains that she is not happy at all. But what I find so beautifully tragic about this scene is when Daisy is speaking of her daughter, and she says that she hopes her daughter “will be a fool, a beautiful little fool, that’s the best thing a girl in this world can be, a beautiful little fool.” The visuals and the dialogue accompanied by the music is so tragic. Daisy is saying she hopes her daughter will be a beautiful fool because society only values a woman's appearance and not her intelligence, and Daisy is also saying she wants her daughter to be a fool so that she doesn’t recognize this cruel reality. Like I said before, this scene is so seemingly beautiful, yet so tragic on such a deep level. This short film is my own rendiiton of this theme of toxic masculinity and the difference between views of male vs. female.
Monster, 2021
Experimental Short
Role: Director, Editor, DP
I made this video to show how crazy and overwhelming life can be. I think when watching this video, the audience can feel a bit overwhelmed because there is so much going on and so much happening in such a short amount of time, and that was the goal of this film. This was very experimental in terms of the editing as I ended up combining a lot of past short films that I had made and adding it all into one, but the overarching theme is a hectic life accompanied by a lack of control of that craziness.
No Signal Music Video, 2022
Test Shoot
Role: Director, DP, Editor
This is a test shoot for a music video for the band No Signal that I did with the lead singer, Riley Schmelzer. This is for a single that the band has coming out soon, and the real music video will be shot this month and released in September/October. There are also some test photos in my photography section of my website.
Jane, 2022
Music Video for No Signal
Role: DP, Co-Editor
This is a music video for a recent single called 'Jane' for the band No Signal. I collaborated with the lead singer, Riley Schmelzer, as well as the rest of his band to help their vision come to life. I included the test shoot above because that was the raw, unedited footage, and I found it to be very beautiful. However, like I mentioned, the band had a very specific vision and since I was not the director, the final music video turned out completley different that I had envisioned, but I am still happy with the result and even more happy that the band was happy with the result!
